Stereotypes of hermits are not unusual, even understandable, but a comic created by Basil Wolverton (1909-1978) in the horror genre borders on the ridiculous, though perhaps entertaining for comic book readers of the time, perhaps even today. Appeared in Weird Chills, no. 1 (1952).

Salon describes the experimental film Erēmīta, a collection of fragmented images representing the fragmented life of the pandemic. The film is a collection (here called “Anthologies”) of scenarios,reflecting the randomness, isolation, distancing, and chaotic solitude of a recent year,–all taken from cell-phones. Yahoo! News reprints a 2015 article in Dornob.com about Veijo Rönkkönen, an artist of Finland, “described as a recluse by those who knew him, and how he spent his time was known to few. But following his death in 2010, over 500 concrete figures were discovered sprawled throughout the forest where he lived. Now known as the Veijo Rönkkönen Sculpture Garden, the extensive outdoor museum is a result of 50 years of loving artistry that currently attracts around 40,000 visitors annually.”
